cohss sports award

On Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, the Student Administration of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), paid a courtesy call on the Provost of the College, Professor Charles Marfo, to present trophies won during the Inter-College Freshers Games.

This visit followed the impressive performance of the College’s Sports Team, who secured 19 out of 26 trophies at the games. The awards were presented during a ceremony held on March 17th, 2025, at the Paa Joe Stadium. The competition featured only first-year students, who demonstrated exceptional commitment, discipline, and teamwork throughout the event.

In his remarks, Professor Marfo commended the athletes for their dedication and for lifting the flag of the College high. He encouraged them to remain consistent in their sporting journey, noting that their success would serve as motivation for other students to take an active interest in sports.

The Provost also received the overall trophy on behalf of the College, symbolising the collective effort of both students and administration in promoting sports development within the academic environment.

This achievement not only reflects the athletic potential of CoHSS students but also underscores the College’s commitment to holistic student development. The remarkable feat by the freshers is a milestone for the College and a testament to what can be achieved through unity and perseverance.

Congratulations to the COHSS Sports Team for bringing honour to the College.
