Economics Conference

Ghana is now a middle income economy, a lower middle income economy, at least statistically. Obviously, the economy has performed well enough for it to achieve this status. Which areas in the economy actually drove it to the middle income status? How can the economy remain middle income? Every sector in the economy now has a role to play to ensure stability of the new income level attained. This conference therefore invites papers in the various areas of Economics and Business related to the economic performance of Ghana as a middle income economy.

Design, Development & Research Conference

This conference aims to stimulate debate and elicit thought provoking responses from the design community, both in academia and in practice, that will help develop the dynamic discourse of design, its processes and development, its complexities and intent, its dilemmas and outcomes, in a bid to transform the lives of the people of the continent of Africa. Building on the success of the inaugural conference of 2011 and 2012 in Cape Town, DDR 2013 (Ghana) will host informative keynote presentations and workshops by well-known academics and practitioners in the field (both from the continent and beyond). The multi-disciplinary nature of this conference is therefore not only a response to the call for more inter-disciplinary collaboration - it also emphasises that ‘the whole is more than just the sum of the parts’; that the design story can also be brewed and shared with the people of Africa in the typical African story-telling format.

Oil & Gas Conference

The prime objective of this conference is to provide a platform for the Academia, the Oil and Gas Industry practitioners, the Legislative Bodies, Service Providers to the Oil and Gas Industry, Policy Planners, Government Agencies, and Trade Groups to understand emerging issues in the Ghanaian Oil and Gas industry. The conference also aims at providing policy advice to Government and Key Industry-Players on the need to put in place well-built establishments as key essentials to the development and growth of this emerging sector.
