The Faculty of Law, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has qualified for the international rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition to be held in Washington, D.C., United States, later this year.

The team secured their spot following an outstanding performance at the National Jessup Moot Court Competition held at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Law School earlier this week, where they reached the finals against the University of Ghana.

Team KNUST dominated the preliminary rounds and demonstrated exceptional legal prowess throughout the competition. The team's excellence was further highlighted by individual and collective awards that underscored their superior preparation and advocacy skills.

Nadia Ohene Adjabeng was adjudged the 3rd Best Oralist in the competition, a recognition of her outstanding oral advocacy and presentation skills. Additionally, the team received the Overall Best Memorial Award, reflecting their exceptional research, legal writing, and analytical capabilities.

The KNUST team comprised two oralists, Nadia Ohene Adjabeng and Nana Ankamah Yirenkyi, who delivered compelling oral arguments before the judges. Emmanuel Tematey and Joana Kusi Duah served as Of Counsel, providing crucial research and strategic support to the team.

The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the world's largest moot court competition, with participants from law schools around the globe. The competition focuses on public international law and provides students with invaluable experience in legal research, writing, and oral advocacy.

This qualification continues the Faculty of Law's proud tradition of excellence in moot court competitions. The faculty has previously won numerous awards at various national and international moot court competitions, including past victories at the Jessup competition where KNUST teams have represented Ghana with distinction.
