The training of students to fit into the world of work was recognised. Apart from the regular arrangements of the Faculties of Fine Art and Industrial art to place Third Year students at various industrial establishments for industrial training, an arrangement was made through the College's Industrial and Professional relations Office to get Third Year Students of the school of Business and culture and Tourism programme attached to various relevant organisations to acquire practical skills. The arrangement was facilitated by Ghana Employers' Association, National commission for culture, HFC Bank, Ghana Tourists' Board and Ghana Hoteliers' Association.

Services to the university, local and international communities were enhanced. The faculty of law was involved in running orientation programme for police personnel and to educate the outlying communities on simple legal issues whilst the school of business continued with its regular programme of running orientation courses for personnel of some financial institutions. The Department of Publishing Studies launched a `Book Reading Club' at Kotei Junior High School near KNUST. In course of the year, the College, through its Industrial and professional relations Office organised a 3-day orientation programme for Senior High Schools in Kumasi metropolis to educate final Year students and their tutors on the programmes run in the College, specifically, entry requirements, nature of the programmes, job opportunities, etc. Over 5,000 students participated.
